Cancellations and transfers of registration can be accepted prior to the event, until midnight on April 5, 2026, exclusively in writing, at the email address mate.brogli@maratonclubmiskolc.hu. In this case, 75% of the amount paid will be refunded.

Cycling escort

Individual and pair competitors can register a separate cycling escort.

TIME LIMIT

Individual and pair competitors have 15 hours to reach the finish line, while relay teams have 14 hours from the start.

TRAFFIC ON THE ROUTE

The race route will be marked out on public roads, embankments, along the banks of the Hernád River, on cycle paths, on low-traffic public roads and on dirt roads. For safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden to drive alongside the runners! Cyclists wearing official, unique vests may only ride behind the runners, temporarily and for a short time alongside them! The route will be secured by the organizers, civil guards, and public space supervisors in cooperation with the police forces of Košice, Miskolc, and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén counties.

 UPDATE

There will be 9 official refreshment points at the 9 transition points along the route, and we will also provide additional refreshments (water, glucose) in several other towns along the route. Of course, there will also be opportunities to replenish fluids and calories at the finish line.

MEDICAL SUPERVISION

The field will be accompanied by medical staff, ambulances and motorcycles. Their phone numbers will be listed on the race numbers and in the program booklet. If any member of the medical staff determines that a competitor is unfit to continue the race, they may remove their race number and disqualify them from the race.

TRANSPORTATION OF COMPETITORS

It is the responsibility of each team to transport their competitors to and from the changeover points with support vehicles. Support vehicles are not allowed to accompany runners during the race on any of the stages!
Runners are accompanied by a closing car, and after the time limit for each stage has expired, the changeover points are closed and the route leading to them is no longer secured. (Detailed times are given in the Program Booklet!)

Changeover

Relays may only take place at the designated relay points! The relay takes place at the relay point by handing over the chip in accordance with the regulations.

RACE RULES

As a participant in the 8th Kassa-Miskolc Ultramarathon, the participant accepts the provisions of these competition rules as binding and undertakes to comply with them. The participant acknowledges that these competition rules apply to participants who have registered for the race.
Participants declare that they are healthy and will participate in the 8th Košice-Miskolc Ultramarathon at their own risk, physically and mentally prepared for the distance and category they have chosen. The Organizer is not responsible for any deterioration in the participant’s health.
Participants acknowledge that recordings may be made of them during the event. Participants consent to the creation and use of images and recordings and acknowledge that the Organizers may use them for communication, marketing, and promotional purposes, in advertising films, and in the media.
An essential condition for receiving the starter pack is the signing and submission of the Liability Statement at the race office, both for teams and for individual and pair participants. It is important to note that once the Liability Statement has been signed, it is no longer possible to change team members. To receive an individual or relay starter pack, you must present a valid ID or a power of attorney signed by two witnesses.
The race route is marked with signs, arrows, tape, and paint. It is the responsibility of the competitor running the stage to follow the route at all times. Organizers, civil guards, public space supervisors, and police officers will assist with navigation along the route, and competitors are required to follow their instructions at all times.
Runners in the lead may be accompanied by motorcyclists within sight for accurate time recording. In the event of a malfunction of the timing system, the motorcycle escorts will manually record the passage through the checkpoints and the time lost at railroad crossings.
During the race, participants must wear their race numbers on the front. Anyone who folds, covers, or wears their race number in a way that makes it difficult to see during the race will be disqualified.
Furthermore, anyone who fails to complete the entire distance designated by the Organizers, or who fills out the entry form and the Liability Statement inaccurately, untruthfully, or incompletely, will be disqualified.
Participants must follow the instructions of traffic control personnel at railroad crossings. When the signal is red, crossing is prohibited and dangerous to life; competitors who violate this rule will be immediately disqualified!
Participants acknowledge that the Organizers will provide refreshments at all transition points. Any trash generated during the race must be disposed of exclusively at the refreshment and transition points, from where the Organizers will remove it. Littering along the route is not permitted and will result in immediate disqualification.
Participants agree that the Organizers will ONLY provide teams with the opportunity to change at designated transition points, where timekeeping will also take place.
It is FORBIDDEN to roller skate, run with a dog or other animal, or complete the race without a race number! Participants acknowledge that violation of these rules will result in immediate disqualification.
Any advertising or marketing activities along the entire route of the race, at the points and on the route may only be carried out with the prior written permission of the Organizers!

Age limit for participation:

1. individual category: 18 years of age or older
2. Pairs category: 18 years of age
3. 5 and 10-member relay category: 16 years of age, with written parental consent

The organizers are not responsible for any valuables left in accompanying cars or at accommodations.
Participants acknowledge that the entry fee does not include insurance; everyone must arrange their own insurance.
A competitor may only participate in the competition as part of one team. Individual competitors may not be members of other teams at the same time.
The race organizer reserves the right to change the location, date, and course of the race.

Force majeure

Participants acknowledge that if the competition cannot be held due to unavoidable external circumstances (force majeure), including but not limited to weather conditions, natural disasters, strikes, blockades, lack of route permits, or other unforeseen, extreme, or unpredictable and unavoidable reasons, the Organizer will set a new (alternative) date (which will be officially announced) and will not refund the entry fee. The race organizer reserves the right to change the location, date, and course of the event.

In the event of cancellation of the competition

The Participant acknowledges that if the competition cannot be held on the newly designated alternative date, the Organizer will announce the cancellation of the competition, cancel the invoice issued for the entry fee, and refund the entry fee as follows:

I.) 78% of the entry fee within 5 days of issuing the cancellation invoice
II.) the remaining 22% within 120 days of the cancellation invoice being issued

If the Organizer is late in meeting the above deadlines, it shall be obliged to pay default interest in accordance with Act V of 2013 (Civil Code).
In case of stormy weather, the Organizer may temporarily or permanently suspend the competition at any time and then restart it. The Organizer will publish information for competitors during the competition on social media or on the website https://kosicemiskolcultramarathon.eu/hu/home-hu/.
