The start is in Košice, at 57 Hlavná Street, in front of the Marathon Point. Heading south on Main Street (Hlavná). We then turn left onto Mlynská Street. Continuing straight, we turn right onto Puškinova Street. The route continues straight along Puškinova Street and Senný trh square. At the end of Senný trh, we turn left onto Rooseveltova Street. In front of the NOCKE swimming pool, we turn right, then passing through Protifašistických bojovníkov Street, we turn left onto Bajzova Street, from there right onto Krivá Street, and finally left again onto Palackého Street towards the Hornád River. Soon, we reach the bicycle path on the bank of the Hornád River. From here on, only pedestrian and bicycle traffic shares our route. We run along the bicycle path next to the river, following its course to the first relay point.

Next, we turn onto a gravel and dirt fishing path along the riverbank, which is wide and stable enough for a brisk running pace. This section has a continuously changing, winding alignment but is easy to follow, as you just need to stay on the wider, well-trodden paths along the river. We soon leave the suburban settlements of Košice completely, and after passing wide meadows and fields, we turn left onto a wooden bridge. Crossing the river, we arrive at Nižná Myšľa for the second relay point.

Entering the village, we are back on an asphalt road. With a sharp right turn, we get on the public road connecting the local settlements. Running along this, we cross Ždaňa, then Trstené pri Hornáde. Leaving the village, we cross the border between the two countries (both geographically and physically), and arrive via an uphill route to Kéked (Main Road), to the next relay point.

After the Kéked relay point, we turn sharply right, climbing uphill onto main road 3709, starting the updated section. On this route, we climb along the western waves of the Zemplén Mountains towards Abaújvár. The route has changed here this year: instead of the previous detour towards Telkibánya (S-curves and the fishing lake), we arrive in the downtown area of Gönc on a straighter, modified path passing through Zsujta. Entering the town, we turn right onto Széchenyi Street, where we reach the relay point.

From the Gönc relay point, we continue towards Petőfi Street, then at the main intersection we bear left onto Ipartelep Street. Crossing the railway tracks, turning right and then left, we run on main road 3713 towards Göncruszka. After Göncruszka, passing through the settlements of Vilmány, we arrive in Vizsoly. The next relay point is located in the parking lot next to the Vizsoly Bible Visitor Center.

From here, we continue towards Abaújszántó on the same public road as before. The proud castle of Boldogkőváralja appears on the left, and then we arrive in Abaújkér. Here, the route changes significantly this year: in Abaújkér, turning right, we get on main road 39, but we do not continue towards Abaújszántó and Felsődobsza; instead, we run straight into the town of Encs. The relay point is set up at the Encs Market Square (Piactér).

Leaving Encs, we turn left onto Vasút Street to exit the town. Heading southwest on the modified section, following the Hornád valley, we approach the next point. Between Ináncs and Kiskinizs, the course leads on an unpaved agricultural road. Passing through the surrounding smaller roads and settlements, we arrive in Kiskinizs, where the relay point awaits the runners at the Cultural Center (Művelődési ház).

Turning right from Kiskinizs onto Dózsa György Street, we soon reach Halmaj. Still among the houses of the village, we cross the main railway line, and exiting the settlement, we turn left onto a bicycle path. This leads out next to main road 3, where we turn left and continue along the bicycle path. We pass through Aszaló, and arriving in Szikszó, we reach the city relay point around the Holy Trinity Church (Szentháromság templom).

After the relay point in Szikszó, another modified section follows. Leaving the town, instead of the previous climb across the fields passing the geodetic tower, we now head towards Sajóvámos on a new, more runnable trail. Following a sharp left turn, we descend on a path leading through agricultural fields, then with a slight right turn, we enter the residential area of Sajóvámos via Ady Endre Street (at the corner of Déryné Street). This is where the final relay point is located.

Continuing, we cross a public road and leave the settlement heading west towards Szirmabesenyő. We cross the bridge over the Sajó River and arrive in Szirmabesenyő, where a refreshment point is set up on Állomás Street, in front of the sports field. From here, we turn left onto Széchenyi Street, and after leaving the houses, we turn left onto the flood protection levee. We leave the levee later after a sharp right turn. The turn leads to a public road, crossing Zsigmondy Street, and reaching Besenyői Street, we turn left. Passing under the overpass, we go straight across the sidewalk – touching Kőrössy Street – among the apartment buildings of Selyemrét, then reaching Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Road, we turn right onto the sidewalk running parallel to the tram. Running all the way along this, crossing three traffic light intersections, we reach the pedestrian street, where running straight to the end, we arrive at the FINISH line set up on Városház Square in Miskolc.
