- The continuation of the international ultramarathon race, first organised in 1999 by the Marathon Club of Miskolc, which was relaunched in 2019.
- Providing competition opportunities for amateur and professional athletes in individual, doubles and relay categories.
- Inclusion of the competition in the “Visegrad 4” sports programme
- Expanding the range of Hungarian-Slovak cross-border events
- Further deepening the sporting friendship between the Hungarian and Slovak running societies
- Strengthening the twinning relationship between Košice and Miskolc. Re-involving the twin cities of Ostrava and Katowice in the event
- Sights of Kosice, Miskolc, Kosice county and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county.

Košice – Sidlisko Krasna – Nizhny Novgorod – Mysla – Kéked – Gönc – Vizsoly – Abaújszántó – Hernádkércs – Szikszó – Sajóvámos – Miskolc
The route of the race is mostly on cycle paths and low-traffic roads, with one dirt road on the Slovak and one on the Hungarian side.

Cancellations or transfers of entries will be accepted until midnight on 7 April 2024, prior to the event, in writing only, by email to mate.brogli@maratonclubmiskolc.hu. In this case 75% of the amount paid will be refunded.

To receive the start packages, please fill in the Declaration of Liability and hand it in at the race office! The Declaration of Liability can be downloaded from www.maratonclubmiskolc.hu.

Individual runners and pairs have 15 hours and relays 14 hours from the start to finish.
TRANSPORT ON THE ROUTE
The race route will be marked out on roads, dams, the banks of the Hernád River, cycle paths, low-traffic roads and dirt roads. For safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden to drive alongside the runners! Cycling escorts wearing official, individual vests are only allowed to ride temporarily behind the runners for a short time! The route will be secured by the organizers, the police of Kassa, Miskolc and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, in cooperation with the police of the city of Kassa, the police of Miskolc and the police of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county.
UPDATE
On the route, there will be 9 official refreshment points at the 9 changeover points, as well as additional refreshment facilities (water, glucose) in several of the villages concerned. Of course, there will also be an opportunity to replenish fluids and calories at the finish.

special prize for the fastest runner in each stage. Therefore, at the end of the race, the 10-member “Dream Team” will be announced and called to the podium.
MEDICAL SUPERVISION
The field is accompanied by a medical team, ambulances and motorbikes. Their telephone number will be on the start number and in the Programme Guide. If any member of the medical staff considers that a rider is not fit to continue, they may remove his/her race number and disqualify him/her from the race.
TRANSPORT OF RIDERS
The transport of each rider to and from the relay points by escort cars is the responsibility of the team. Escort cars are not allowed to accompany the runner during the race on each stage!
Runners will be escorted by a closing car, after the level time of each stage the transition points will be closed and the route to the transition points will be closed (detailed times in the Programme Guide!)
Switch to
You can only change at the designated changing point! The changeover is made by handing over the chip at the changeover point as required. The Pair, Relay 5 and Relay 10 may change at any changeover point. Changing is only possible at a changeover point!
COMPETITION RULES
As a participant of the 6th Kassa-Miskolc Ultramarathon, the participant accepts the present rules of the race and undertakes to comply with them. He/she acknowledges that the participants who have entered via registration are subject to these race rules.
The participant declares that he/she will participate in the 6th Kassa-Miskolc Ultramarathon in good health, at his/her own risk, and for the distance and category of his/her choice, both physically and mentally fit. The Organizer is not responsible for any deterioration of his/her health.
The participant acknowledges that he/she may be photographed during the event. The participant consents to the taking and use of the images and recordings and acknowledges that they may be used by the Organiser for communication, marketing and promotional purposes, in advertising films and media.
To receive the start package, it is essential to sign and hand in the Declaration of Liability at the race office, for teams, individual competitors and pairs. It is important to note that for teams, once the Declaration of Liability has been signed, there is no possibility of changing members. To collect an individual and relay start pack, an ID card or a power of attorney signed by two witnesses is required.
The route of the race will be marked with signs, arrows, tape and asphalt paintings. It is the responsibility of the runner to follow the route in all cases. The route will be assisted by the organisers, the police, the police, the police constables and the public order officers, whose instructions must be followed in all cases.
Runners in the front of the race may be accompanied by a motorbike – within sight – to ensure accurate time-credits. In the event of a malfunction of the timing system, the motorbike escorts will manually record the time lost at the points and the time lost at the level crossings.
During the race, the start number is worn in front of the participant. Any participant who folds, covers, or does not wear his/her number in a visible manner during the race will be disqualified.
Anyone who fails to complete the entire distance set by the Organisers, fails to fill in the entry form and the Declaration of Liability accurately or truthfully, or fails to complete the form and the Declaration of Liability correctly or completely, may be disqualified.
The participant shall follow the instructions of the staff directing traffic at level crossings. In case of a red signal, crossing is forbidden and life-threatening, and any competitor violating this rule will be immediately disqualified!
The participant acknowledges that the Organisers will provide refreshments at all transition points. Any rubbish generated during the race must be disposed of at the refreshment and transition points only, from where it will be removed by the Organisers. Littering on the route is not allowed and will result in immediate disqualification.
The participant accepts that the Organiser will provide the teams with the possibility to change ONLY at the designated changeover points, where the time measurement will take place.
It is FORBIDDEN to skate, run with a dog or other animal, and to run without a number! The participant acknowledges that he/she may be immediately disqualified if these rules are violated.
Any advertising and marketing activities on the entire race route, points and route may only be carried out with the prior written permission of the Organisers!
The age limit for participation is:
- individual category: over 18 years
- doubles category: over 18 years
- 5 and 10-member relay category: age 16, with written parental consent
The organisers cannot be held responsible for any valuables left in the accompanying cars and accommodation.
The participant acknowledges that the entry fee does not include insurance, which is the responsibility of the participant.
A competitor may only enter one team in the competition. An individual competitor may not be a member of another team at the same time.
The race organiser reserves the right to change the venue, the time and the course of the programme.
Vis major
The participant acknowledges that if the race cannot be held due to unavoidable external reasons (force majeure), in particular but not limited to weather conditions, natural disaster, strike, blockade, lack of route permit or other unforeseen, extreme or unforeseeable and unavoidable reasons, the Organiser will set a new (additional) date (of which he will be officially informed) and the entry fee will not be refunded. The Organiser reserves the right to change the venue, the time and the course of the programme.
In the event of a cancellation
The Participant acknowledges that if the race cannot be held on the newly designated replacement date, the Organiser will announce the cancellation of the race, cancel the entry fee invoice and refund the entry fee as follows:
I.) 78% of the entry fee within 5 days of the issue of the cancellation invoice
II.) and the remaining 22% within 120 days of the issue of the cancellation invoice
If the Organiser is in default of the above deadlines, the Organiser shall be liable to pay interest on late payment in accordance with Act V of 2013 (Civil Code).
In the event of stormy weather, the organiser may suspend the race temporarily or permanently and restart it at any time. The organiser will publish information to competitors during the race on social media or via www.maratonclubmiskolc.hu.
